BRIAN MIRAU, LUTCF

Brian Mirau is the founder and president of Mirau Capital Management and is a well-known speaker and investment advisor in New Mexico and Texas. With more than 30 years of professional experience in the financial services industry, Brian’s sound, conservative advice and tax-saving strategies have helped numerous people grow and protect their retirement assets. Brian believes the financial planning process does not need to be confusing and complicated in order to be effective and efficient, so he strives to keep it simple. Brian knows each person’s situation is unique and there is no cookie cutter approach to delivering financial advice. Brian and his wife, Karen, have been married for over 35 years, have three children and 2 grandkids. Mirau Capital is built on strong family values, which is why we strive to keep you up-to-date on issues that matter to you, your family and your financial well-being.

Patrick is an advisor here at Mirau Capital and has been in the financial services industry since 2002. He holds both his insurance and securities licenses. He is a past agency manager and has hired and trained over 130 agents. Originally from South Texas, Patrick graduated from Texas A&M University. He has been married to his wife, Dianne, since 2005, and they have two children, Evan and Emily. Patrick loves traveling, being outdoors and spending time with his family.

Jeff has been in the financial services industry since 2010. Jeff currently holds a Series 6, 7, 63, and 66 License, along with Insurance Licenses. He enjoys using his knowledge and experience to help clients to plan for their financial future. Jeff is from the southwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, and moved with his wife and young twins to Albuquerque (his wife’s hometown), in 2010. Active with his family and community, Jeff is also the President of the New Mexico Ice Hockey Foundation since 2014, and spends much of his free time working to enhance youth hockey opportunities for New Mexico families.

Jeremy has been helping individuals and families plan for their financial future since 2008. With over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, he specializes in comprehensive financial planning that includes investments, retirement strategies, insurance, tax planning, college savings, income protection, and estate planning.
Jeremy works closely with each client to understand their unique goals and values. He partners with them to design and implement personalized financial strategies that aim to grow, protect, and transfer wealth effectively. Whether clients are building assets, preparing for retirement, or planning a smooth wealth transition, Jeremy’s goal is to simplify complex decisions and provide clear guidance every step of the way.
He holds FINRA Series 6, 63, 66, and 7 licenses, as well as a New Mexico Life and Health Insurance license. His approach is built on trust, education, and long-term relationships. Jeremy is committed to ensuring every client feels confident about their financial future by offering ongoing education, regular reviews, and plan updates as life changes.
Outside the office, Jeremy is a proud husband and father to a son and daughter. He enjoys traveling, playing golf, and most of all, being a dad. Supporting his children in their sports and activities is one of his greatest joys. For Jeremy, family is everything, and it is the driving force behind his passion for helping others secure their financial futures.

As Vice President of Mirau Capital, Karen Mirau leads the firm’s operations with a focus on excellence, integrity, and personalized service. She has been a part of the financial services industry since 1997 and brings decades of experience and commitment to client care. Karen holds her insurance licenses and is a proud member of both the Better Business Bureau and the National Ethics Bureau. Karen earned her BBA from McMurry University. Her diverse background includes a unique international upbringing—she spent her early years in the Middle East and attended Tehran American School in Iran before continuing her education in the U.S.
Karen and her husband, Brian, have three children—Casey, Megan, and Sarah—and are proud grandparents to five grandchildren. She enjoys spending quality time with her family and finds peace in the mountains of Ruidoso, where she loves being outdoors and recharging in nature.

Tana Abad serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Mirau Capital, where she brings more than 25 years of experience in business management and operational leadership. Since entering the financial services industry in 2018, she has played a pivotal role in streamlining processes, driving results, and fostering a culture rooted in teamwork and shared purpose. With deep roots in both the Houston and Waco areas of Texas, Tana is known for her strong leadership abilities and her commitment to building collaborative, high-performing teams.
Grounded in her Christian faith, Tana leads with grace, integrity, and vision. She believes in creating people-first systems that not only drive growth but also reflect the firm’s core values. Her leadership style prioritizes accountability, encouragement, and connection—ensuring every team member is supported and empowered to thrive.
Outside of work, Tana enjoys traveling to new cities, especially exploring their downtowns, meeting new people, and trying local cuisine. A light hiker and avid foodie, she finds joy in everyday adventures and cherishes time with her son, Sebastian, who remains her greatest blessing and motivation.

Billie brings over 25 years in customer service experience and has a spirit for helping others. She holds her life, health, property, and casualty insurance licenses. She is a native of Ruidoso, NM where her and her husband have raised their five children. She enjoys spending time with family, cooking, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors in the beautiful mountain town she calls home.

Sarah has been in the financial services industry since 2019. She specializes in administrative work here at Mirau Capital as well as client service. Sarah spent her childhood in Ruidoso, NM and moved to Flower Mound where she graduated high school from Grapevine Faith Christian School in Grapevine, Texas. She went on to attend and graduate from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas with a Bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Leadership Ministries.
She loves painting and drawing, spending time with her family, friends and dogs, she also loves outdoor adventure activities such as backpacking and kayaking.
